Suku Radia, Bankers Trust CEO, Community Leader, and Philanthropist will share inspiring insights of his own personal story, giving back in the community, and the importance of philanthropy. Following Suku's presentation, YPC will go "Inside the Vault" witha guided tour of Bankers Trust's offices and a progressive cocktail party!! When: Monday September 10, 2012, 5-8pm Where: The Des Moines Club, 34th Floor of the Ruan Building at 7th/Grand (enter on the street level to take the high-rise elevators) Parking is available on the street via metered parking, or in the 7th/Grand ramp Cost: FREE for YPC Members, $5.00 for Non-Members RSVP is required by Friday September 7th, due to limited space available. **** THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!!!!**** _______________________________________________ Suku Radia, CEO & President, Bankers Trust Suku Radia joined Bankers Trust in 2008 as President, and in July 2008 he was named CEO. Before joining Bankers Trust, Radia was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Meredith Corporation from 2000 to 2008. Before joining Meredith, Radia had served as Managing Partner of KPMG in Des Moines since 1993. During his tenure at KPMG, he counseled senior management of national and international companies on a number of financial matters, including acquisitions, mergers, and strategic planning. Born and raised in Kampala, Uganda, Radia came to the United States in 1971 to attend Iowa State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with distinction from Iowa State University in 1974, and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1975, the same year he joined KPMG’s Des Moines office. He is active in a wide variety of professional, economic development, educational, and charitable organizations. Radia is a past president of the Des Moines Rotary Club, past chair of the Greater Des Moines Partnership and The Greater Des Moines Committee, and has served as chair of at least a dozen other civic organizations. Mr. Radia is the 2009 chair of the United Way campaign for Central Iowa. |
